Immediate Dentures?
Immediate dentures, which are placed in the mouth immediately after an extraction surgery, are commonly used as temporary transitional dentures or, at times, a permanent solution; the Denturist can decide after an examination.These dentures help compress the underlying tissue, which supports the healing process. Moreover, they work to improve the final, permanent dentures, as many changes in aesthetics, fit, and function can be made based on the performance of the immediate, transitional device.
To receive immediate dentures, you must see your denturist to have an impression taken before your extraction appointment. Your immediate dentures are fabricated before the extraction to be available on the day of surgery.

1- How long before I can chew with immediate dentures?
You may begin taking liquids or soft foods almost immediately. Most people progress slowly to a regular diet. This will generally take 10 days to several weeks depending upon your ability to tolerate the new denture, as well as the discomfort that you may experience when chewing with your new teeth.
2- What are the types of immediate dentures?
There are several different types of immediate dentures. Complete (also called full) immediate denture replaces all teeth in one jaw and partial immediate denture replaces several but not all teeth in one jaw.
3- What are the issues with immediate dentures?
You might experience soreness or irritation as your mouth adjusts to the dentures. You’ll need to wear them for about 4 to 6 months, before your denturist decides if a permanent denture needs to be fabricated or relining your current denture. Final treatment plan is decided after gums have fully healed.
4- What are the advantages of immediate dentures?
• They immediately fill gaps in your mouth after a tooth extraction, or after a full-mouth extraction.
